We are here in beautiful Shanghai; the climate is warm and the air breathable; always thankful for the basics in life! It was a very long and exhaustive day yesterday and glad it’s finally over for a bit. We left Calgary in the middle of a snowstorm, not knowing if we’d even make it out of our drive let alone to the airport. Let me tell you, there wasn’t going to be anything keeping me from being on that plane! The flight, well, Air Canada’s motto, known amongst the many travelers is, “We’re not happy until you’re not happy!” Such was our flight. What was supposed to be bulk head seating at an extra cost of $280.00 turned out to be not there. Although they do have my money, I just didn’t get my seats and they gave them to someone else. We were cramped towards the back of the plane, with absolutely no room to stretch out. The gentleman behind me thought the back of my seat was his private punching bag, the lady to my left talked… here me… she literally talked for the 13 hours. How does anyone do that? Honey, come up for air! However, we are here, we’ve been fed, we’ve slept in a marvelous bed, and another day will commence in a few hours.
We arrived at the hotel by 7:15 last night, today being the wee hours (2:45 am) of a Monday morning, managed to get booked in fairly easily, and sampled some fantastic food in the Yi Café; a huge buffet restaurant. If you can imagine it, they had it, and I loved it! Today will begin with an early breakfast and then a tour at 8.
There is a bit of an issue getting to my blog site, so postings might be intermittent.
