Yawkey Way-Fenway Park: home of the Boston Red Socks
Boston, one of the oldest cities in the United States having been founded in the early 1600’s. The home of Harvard, Cambridge, and oh so many other universities. The place to be if I ever needed to freshen up on American history, yesterday being exactly that day! What better way to see, experience, and be in awe than to do it all with friends who live here! Driving through the streets of the city there was Yawkey Way, Fenway Park, Boston U. and oh so many more. We strolled the hallows of Harvard, had lunch at a famous burger joint and walked the Freedom Trail. So come along for a view of a beautiful city and what it has to offer.

Published by Along the Way: life begins at home yet our door is forever open to adventure, new places and new people. Welcome to our travels around the world.
This blog is really about us, my husband Rick and I and our travels. We are retired with grown children and two granddaughters. We travel...exhilarating in new experiences and places and all that each day holds. We believe that life begins to fade once we fail to live into it anymore. So come along the way with us and enjoy the journey too!

Glad to see that your journey is progressing well – soon you will be relaxing at your final destination! I enjoyed your Boston photos after having spent a few weeks there learning about medical documentation programs they brought back memories! Yes it is definitely a University city – apparently has 75 (info from our guide)!
I was in Boston for a couple of days several years ago and I walked the Freedom Trail. It was very interesting and the graveyard was fascinating. So much important American history here.
I also ate baby octopus (which is caught in their own harbor) as well as having the ubiquitous Boston Clam Chowder. I didn’t have time to see Barton and Jim, but it is nice to see Barton’s picture here.
