A Return to the Camino de Santiago

Camino Day 8-13

In exactly 22 days we will be en route to Europe to begin another journey and another part of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. We will begin this time in Dublin, Ireland where we will visit Saint James church to pick up our pilgrims passports, have our names registered with the Camino Society Ireland and entered into their Book of Pilgrims to Santiago. It is a record of Irish pilgrims who have completed the camino journey and hold a Compostela or Camino Certificate. I myself am not Irish, yet my better half definitely is.

We will meet up with Fresco Tours on June 3rd to meet the other 12 pilgrims in Porto, Portugal. If you’re interested (and I highly recommend them) you can find out about Fresco here: http://frescotours.com/

We encourage you to walk this journey with us through each post which will start when we begin. So stay tuned, stay connected. Bye for now…or in all the other languages we will encounter: Slán go fóill; Adiós por ahora; Adeus por agora

Published by Along the Way: life begins at home yet our door is forever open to adventure, new places and new people. Welcome to our travels around the world.

This blog is really about us, my husband Rick and I and our travels. We are retired with grown children and two granddaughters. We travel...exhilarating in new experiences and places and all that each day holds. We believe that life begins to fade once we fail to live into it anymore. So come along the way with us and enjoy the journey too!

  1. Thank you for keeping me on your list! I love seeing what you are doing and would really like to do a part of this some day. Just don’t know if or when, but I’m not getting any younger, so sooner is better than later!

  2. Excited to hear about your latest Camino adventure. I love walking with you virtually. I find it interesting that you are starting in Ireland, and I didn’t know that Rick had Irish blood! Something to celebrate with a Jameson the next time we are together. Godspeed and safe trekking.

  3. Once again I cannot wait to follow along with you both on your journey – Henry & i would have loved to have been there in person but with family weddings & reunions it just was not possible this year! Let the journey begin and enjoy because I know we will be enjoying it!
