We arrived in Spain two days ago and have been in Pratdip with our friends Salvador and Marta. They live in Pratdip, a mountainous area which is exceedingly beautiful.
Yesterday Salvador took us on a drive through the Priorat area to view a hermitage high upon a mountain and then to view many vineyards. First, let’s visit Siurana, the land of princesses. The last Muslim stronghold of Catalunya.
I do not have words to describe the beauty of the area, only pictures. Above some of the doorways were signs to describe the owners of the place. Here we find the puppeteer…maybe his name was Gepetto? I don’t know so I will let my imagination dream.
You can read about Siurana here: The Land of Princesses
Following our walk through the hermitage we drove to the cellars of Scala Dei, stopping, of course, to take in many vistas of vineyards along the route and to enjoy an afternoon respite.
If you are ever in the region, stop in to Scala Dei Cellars and have a sampling of very good vino. http://www.cellersdescaladei.com/
For now I will leave you with…Bon Dia
Spectacular …..great shot of the cliffs/ valley of the Siurana valley. Keep up the good work, and travel well.
