On to the Château de Versailles…

Image

What can anyone say about Versailles except that it was awe-inspiring in one breathe, and a bit disheartening in another. It truly made me think of the burden on the people of the time, and through the centuries, to maintain a monstrosity of beauty such as this by means of exorbitant taxation. No need to wonder why there was a revolution, yet for now, enjoy the workmanship of amazing architecture and art.
